2013 has kicked off, and there are so many new technologies we will cover this year. From trade shows to growing trends, we are watching out for anything that’s up-and-coming in the tech world.  Here’s a just a little bit of what our team is looking forward to in 2013.

Dawn Hopper, Product Marketing Manager — Cisco

2013 with the Cisco line is ushering in many exciting projects. The newest Cisco data center credentials will be supported with the development of certification preparation courses and other tools. There will be enhancements to hands-on labs for UCS and Nexus advanced training, such as inclusion of failover scenarios and in-depth review of the latest topics. We will connect with you at Cisco Live! June 23rd–27th in Orlando, where you can find us at the testing center and the World of Solutions.

Tori Easterly, Sr. Product Manager — Networking and Security

CompTIA unveiled their Storage + certification and allowed for different members of data center teams to gain more knowledge in storage through the Storage + Prep Course. DOD security personnel and administrators can now expand on their Security + certification since CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP) has been approved for the DOD Directive 8570 at the Technical Level III and IA Management Level II. IPv6 will be available beginning in March, covering the features, benefits, and advanced capabilities of IPv6, beyond what IPv4 offers. IPv6 will be updated regularly to include changes to RFC and standards.

Ron Wen, Product Marketing Manager — Microsoft

New Microsoft certifications, new Boot Camps, new remote labs, and all the changes from Redmond meant that we started making major changes with Microsoft training in late 2012.

2013 brings on a new set of opportunities: Windows Server 2012 should be picking up major steam, Windows 8 continues to move towards greater adoption, and we have the releases of Office 2013, Exchange 2013, Sharepoint 2013, and Lync Server 2013. We will be in New Orleans come June for Microsoft TechEd.
