Theoretical Foundations for a Unique Training Style

As the organizational need for computer and Information Systems literacy increases with
continually evolving technology, the necessity of effective training continues to grow.
Technology training in organizations has over the last 20 years proven a costly, yet integral,
endeavor: According to a 2010 study, End-User Training (EUT) has taken on the largest
portion of workplace training, and in 2012 an estimated $156.2 billion was spent on
employee learning in U.S. organizations (ASTD Research). This number includes a variety of
training methods, including classroom-style, third-party instruction, and computer-based
training (CBT). This paper will focus on the latter, and the distinctive qualities that can make
video training platforms effective.
