PMP Question of the Week: Change Order Request Next Steps

pmpweek04You are the project manager on a very large, complex system software deployment project. The schedule is set for three years and the budget is $8 million. The project is approximately 50% complete but is slightly behind schedule and over budget (SPI = 0.94 and CPI = 0.96). One of the key project stakeholders (accounting department functional manager) contacts you to discuss what the accounting departmental manager believes to be required additional scope. You ask this key stakeholder to put his request in the form of a Change Order Request (COR). When you receive the COR, you expect to work the COR through the Control Scope process.
