Ask C-suite executives why they resist sending their female employees to negotiation training programs and — behind closed doors, at least — they’ll admit to a common concern: that these employees will come back and ask for more money.

While the struggle for pay parity leads the news cycle, the fear that women workers will exploit company-funded skills training for personal gain honestly misses the point. In fact, teaching women to negotiate more effectively typically benefits the entire organization.
