Started in 2004, the event spotlights educating the population on cybersecurity threats and the importance of staying safe online. It’s a collaboration between the Department of Homeland Security, the National Cyber Security Alliance, and the Multi-State Information Sharing and Analysis Center.

National Cybersecurity Awareness Month: Shared Responsibility

October is National Cybersecurity Awareness Month, created a decade ago by the US Department of Homeland Security and the National Cybersecurity Alliance to educate the public and help ensure everyone has the resources needed to be safer and more secure online. This year’s theme is shared responsibility, with a focus on protecting the Internet and the active role each of us can take to do so.
